How To Pay with Distributed Charge - EV

Distributed Charge - EV has two payment modes:

  • AutoPay
    • AutoPay is the ideal way to pay for frequent users, you just plug the charge cable into your vehicle and many small payments get automatically sent from your vehicle.
    • AutoPay has a few drawbacks:
      • Harder to setup so it is an advanced option and not for new users at this time.
      • Requires specialized hardware to be installed in your vehicle that is connected to a lightning wallet.
      • Currently works with Tesla vehicles.
  • ManualPay
    • ManualPay is less convenient, but it is the easiest option for new users or users who don't expect to use Distributed Charge - EV very frequently.
    • Use this option if you want to pay with a mobile phone based bitcoin lightning wallet.

NOTE: Distributed Charge - EV accepts bitcoin only using the lightning network. It does not accept any form of metal coins, paper cash, credit cards, debit cards, or bank checks. Any mobile phone wallet that can pay to a BOLT11 bitcoin lightning invoice can send a payment to Distributed Charge - EV, and some mobile phone wallets will automatically swap some kind of non-bitcoin credit for real bitcoin and send it to a BOLT11 invoice. It's up to you to decide what type of mobile phone wallet to use based on your skills and needs.
