I've developed a set of prototype payment modules that allow for electric car charging by making real time machine to machine micropayments over the bitcoin lightning network from the car to the wall charging unit. You can learn more by watching the video below.

Demonstration Device Details
- Integrates directly into the Tesla Gen 2 Wall Connector, which is capable of delivering 80amps RMS, or 19.2kW @ 240VAC RMS.
- Payment requests are sent from the wall unit's payment module to the car's payment module over existing charge cable using single wire CAN.
- Energy delivery stops if payments stop.
- No wires are cut on the car or the wall unit. All equipment is totally removable.
- All software is open source.
